Embracing Diversity and Building Inclusion Together

The mission of the Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion (DE&I) Committee is to promote diversity, equity and inclusivity within the Brook Park community. We are committed to engaging the voices of our community as well as our school administration to promote equality and inclusion for all people.
 

What we've accomplished so far: 

• Highlighted various heritage months through community gatherings 
• Hosted movie nights and performances
• Worked with BP on daily announcements about the contributions of diverse populations to American culture
• Held a book drive to increase the diversity of the BP library's collection
• Organized discussion groups around books and other media to expand our perspectives
• Ensured BPC events are inclusive and accessible
• Composed monthly newsletters to provide parents with discussion points and resources to expand our knowledge of different cultures in our communities and more

What we hope to do: 

• Provide education to parents through speaker engagements and other events
• Engage BP community to highlight areas of social justice and inclusion
• Continue to make BP an inclusive and equitable community

DE&I Committee Volunteer Opportunities

Can you help? Brook Park’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Committee is looking for volunteers to help us update the DEI Corner every month. This involves finding material related to the Awareness Month and hanging it up on the designated wall in the school.

We need your help in making this project a success! If you have any interest in promoting diversity and inclusion in our school, we would love for you to get involved. It's a great opportunity to meet other parents and to make a positive impact on our school community.
